PURCHASE POLICY
For the sake of your puppy and the continued excellence of the breed, Mountain Shadows Malamute Kennel has a strict purchase policy.
The prices of our limited AKC Alaskan Malamute puppies start at $900.
Limited registration simply means you will receiveĀ no breeding rights with any dog registry.
Prices are listed as “start at” because rare colors such as red and giant malamutes are more valuable. We will set a fair price for your puppy, and you can compare that price to other kennels – if you can find a better price, TELL US!
To guarantee your selected puppy, we must receive a non-refundable deposit of $200.00, payable by money order, cashier’s check or cash only, within 5 days of the date you select your puppy. This deposit is applied toward the purchase price of your puppy. Puppies are chosen in the order we receive deposits. We start to make puppy picks at 3-4 weeks of age. If we do not receive your deposit within 5 days, we cannot hold the puppy of your choice and it will be re-listed for sale. This deposit will be taken off the total cost of the puppy. The balance due must be received by the time the puppy is 8 weeks of age, which is the pick up date for puppies unless other arrangements have been made. The complete purchase price of any puppy must be received by the time the puppy is 8 weeks old. Puppies are ready to go home at 8 weeks old. There are no cash refunds on any money received by Mountain Shadows Malamute Kennel. Any money received is used for the care of our Malamutes.
All puppies will need to be picked up when they reach 8 weeks old. If you are unable to pick up your puppy at 8 weeks old there will be a $50.00 per week kennel charge to care for your puppy unless other arrangements have been made. The kennel charge will cover the cost of their food and loving care. Unless you have made other arrangements with us, any puppy not picked up by 10 weeks old will be resold and you will lose any money paid to Mountain Shadows Malamute Kennel.
We accept money orders, cashiers checks and cash only. No puppy will be delivered until the full purchase price has been received by us. If the puppy is paid for at the time of pick up, cash is required.
Should you decide not to purchase the puppy you have picked out after we have received your deposit, you will lose the deposit. All payments are non-refundable once they have been received by us.
Additional Information
INCLUDED WITH THE PUPPY: Preventative Dewormings, and vaccination at 7 weeks of age; a shot record will be provided with your puppy; a Spay/Neuter contract with health guarantee for one year against life-threatening genetic/congenital diseases; an application for your puppy’s registration with the AKC (after providing proof of spay/neuter). Please see our contract.
If you happen to find a genetically life-threatening condition with your puppy within one year, you must take it to a veterinarian and have the veterinarian contact us. If there is something wrong, upon receiving a statement from your vet (with his phone number on it) stating what is wrong with your puppy, we will then gladly give you a puppy of the same breed, color and sex as soon as one is available. No refunds of cash value will be given. Any monies accepted by Mountain Shadows Malamute Kennel will not be returned. All money is used for the care of our Malamutes.
Your puppy will not be done with vaccinations or de-worming after you receive it. You will need to take it to your veterinarian within 3 days of receiving it so that your vet can recommend the future vaccinations, heart worm prevention, de-worming , flea and tick protection, etc. that will be needed to ensure your puppy’s good health. Puppies are available to go home with their owners at 8 weeks of age.
To the best of our knowledge all puppies sold will be in great condition and healthy at the time of sale. We follow great veterinary practices and provide proper care to ensure the health and safety of our puppies.
If for any reason, or at any time, you cannot keep your puppy/dog please call us first so that we can help find your puppy a good home. We care about the futures of all our puppies, and would like to hear back from time to time about how your Mountain Shadows Malamute is doing!
