They should have obedience instruction as soon as possible. And many of all, they don’t turn into calm until they’ve totally outgrown the puppy stage. It’s most suitable that you take note of these details if you want to have this kind of dog for a pet.
That is very true! Malamutes are large, friendly but extremely energetic animals. They are prey driven, so cats can be an issue (we surmount this issue by socializing our puppies with our hous cats while the cats are still bigger than the puppies). Malamutes love to run and run and run. They need a big yard and to be walked or run a lot. Although gentle and loving toward people, Malamutes, especially males, can be very male-aggressive. Please do your research before deciding if an Alaskan Malamute is the right dog for you and your family.
I am considering getting another Mal this spring/summer. I had one for 10 years…best dog ever! Could you give a general idea about litters, price, etc? And where are you located?
Thank youn
John
Hi John, we just had our litter, which is very exciting! Puppies are $900. We’re located just outside of Pueblo, Co; we can ship a puppy via air.
Congrats on the puppies…been following it on Facebook. The timing is not good right now for me but would like to know when you are planning you next litter?
Good luck with the pups, they look awesome!!!
Thanks -john
We may breed again this fall, but we’re really planning on one of our new bitches next spring. This is probably the only litter we’re going to have this year because we have to fix our other dam – she’s the one who had the black and whites. She had a c-section and we decided we don’t want to risk her health just for another litter of puppies.
Thanks, please keep me in the loop.
John
